So what is gun control all about. Most would tell you it is to keep guns out of the hands out of criminals hands. Let's understand just one simple fact. Criminals are not going to you local gun dealer and buying their guns. They are buying their guns illegally. It is as simple as that. They are not worried about going through a background check or anything else.
Let's face it. The only ones that are affected by gun control laws, are the law abiding citizens of this great nation. It is time to realize that the Second Amendment was created by our forefathers for one simple reason. That is to keep our government in check. To make sure they don't become a tyrannical government. Through the gun laws that our local, state and federal governments are creating, they are attempting to control us and make sure we don't have the power to stand up for ourselves in the event the governments of this nation decide they need to take control over us. Nothing more.
Some will say I am out of my mind and that I am the reason why gun laws should be created. However, unless you really know me, you have to right or ability to voice that opinion. I choose to own guns because I like to shoot and hunt. I believe in the right to protect myself as well.
People will tell you that the police are there to protect us. No they are not. They are there for one simple thing. That one simple thing is to make sure we are obeying the laws that our control grabbing politicians are passing. I am not a conspiracy theorist by any means. I just look at the facts, as do many other people. The facts are very straight forward. In the areas that have very strict gun laws, the gun violence doesn't decrease. You want to stop gun violence, fight crime. Get our police out there actually going after criminals, and stop chasing down people and shooting them for no good, rational reason. I am no way saying that all police officers are doing that, but there is enough of it going on that it needs to be stopped right here and now. People and police officers say their job is dangerous. Yes it is. They knew this going into the job as well. No one forced them to become a police officer. I have several officers that are friends and family. I care about their safety, just as much as any other citizens, but again, they chose their profession.
To say that getting rid of all guns would stop gun violent crimes is not true. It would just make it easier for criminals. They would still have guns and the law abiding citizens would not. Not to mention if our governments decided that they needed to take control of our everyday lives, how would be stop them, if we didn't have a way to protect ourselves?
Yes it is very sad to see young children get shot down by sick and twisted individuals. Taking guns away is not going to stop that from happening though. They will just find another way of doing it. They will use improvised explosive devices, much like were used at the Boston Marathon. You will never truly stop individuals bent on destruction. Individuals or lone wolves are effective for one reason. They act on their own. They tell no one and therefore, there is little to no trace of what they are doing until it is done and over.
So I beg of you my fellow "Freedom Loving Americans", stand up for your rights. Make sure you understand the repercussions of the laws that you blindly believe in or fight for. Do use emotions to create laws, use wisdom. They are counting on the fact that emotion will drive public opinion and allow them to create more laws that will limit the availability we as law abiding citizens have to protect ourselves.
Fine, you don't like guns, they scare you. That is completely fine. You don't need to own them, but just because you don't like them or are afraid of them, doesn't give you the right to limit my right to own one. Also don't come running to me for protection if for some reason the @#$# hits the fan and you need protection. Sorry, but I will be protecting my family, remember you said, "The common citizen doesn't need guns, that is what we have our police and soldiers for." When they are not there to protect you, what then? What if they are the ones you need protecting from, what then?
Everything I talk about here is hypothetical, I know this, but what if? Those two words don't mean much until they are put together. If you are willing to risk your life on believing your government is out to do only right by you, that is fine for you to believe, but don't think you have the right to force that belief on me or my family. It is not our governments job to look over us. To make sure we are eating all the right foods, drinking the right things, raising our children a certain way, teaching them only what they believe is the correct facts. That is control, there is no other way to see it. We are free to live our lives as we see fit. You listen to people like Mika Brzezinski from Morning Joe on MSNBC, she believes that our government should stop us from drinking soda and a lot of other "unhealthy foods". Since when is it up to anyone else to tell you what you can or should eat or drink. It is not the place of our governments, nor anyone else. People say, "Well they have the right to their opinion!" Yes they do, however, they don't have the right to force their opinion on me and force me or anyone else for that fact, to live life how they believe we should. Don't think I am a MSNBC basher either, I dislike FOX NEWS (FIXED NONSENSE) just as much. One is all about the looney left and the other is about the righteous right. They both have an agenda and both will tell you they don't. It is blatantly obvious if you actually listen to the individuals they have on the networks. Not to mention how many times it is revealed how FIXED NONSENSE misrepresents the facts or out right twists the facts, to takes the information out of context to manufacture a story. They have been caught on this more often than MSNBC. I don't care which one you talk about. They both create the news as they see fit and report it as they see fit.
