Mayor Annise Parker asked the Houston attorneys to subpoena 5 local Houston churches for sermons that contained her name and anything to do with homosexuality. Interesting bit of news if you ask me. It was stated to do with the Houston Equal Right Ordinance, but could it be about the Mayor being an openly gay public official? Some might say yes, some might say no, but what is the real answer. Since when does the government, local, state or federal have to right to diminish or take aways one's right to the freedom of speech?

This is no different than the GOP's attempts to stop none like minded voters from being able to vote, wait those laws are to stop voter fraud. Right, we all know what they are for, and it is not for voter fraud.

I don't care if the mayor is gay or not. She does not have the right to diminish or take away the right to freedom of speech, more especially when it comes to a church and religious beliefs.

This is a clear cut case of a elected official overreaching their position and power to force their belief and will on their citizens.

I am a firm believer in the separation of church and state, I don't believe there never be any influence on a church by the government, that is what we left behind when we came to America to find religious freedom. However, I am also a firm believer in not allowing the church to influence our government or laws either. If there is a need to keep the government out of the church, there is just as much a need to keep the church out of the government.

No matter what I am talking about in this piece, no one has the right to diminish you Constitutional rights. Houston you need to get rid of this idiot you call your mayor, and you need to do it right now. If she is willing to do what she has done publically, just think what she is willing to do quietly, although it would be more difficult now that she has done this.

It troubles me to see the GOP or Democrats try to take away or diminish our Constitutional rights, right they didn't give us, these rights we were born with. They don't have the ability or right to do so. The courts have said that in the matter of public safety they can, but that is not true either. The courts cannot take away our Constitutional rights either. Any of these legal decisions that the supposed "Supreme Courts" have made on these types of matters are unconstitutional as well. They do not have the right or ability to change the Constitution.

It is time for all Americans to step up and be heard. It is time for all Americans to get out and vote. It is time for the 98 percent to work together to get rid of the idiots in Washington D.C. that are working for themselves and the wealthy. They work for all of us. ALL OF US!
